Farmboy Fabrications Business Card Design

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

farmboy_sampleFarmboy Fabrications from Florida, The Sunshine State, contacted 509 Media to handle the graphic design of their new business cards.  The business cards will be used company wide with other employee names and email information.  The new business card design used the existing logo design from Farmboy Fabrications with a couple 509 Media tweaks.  The business cards will be printed in full color both front and rear on 16 pt card stock.  Farmboy Fab is one offroad company that will be proud to hand out their new business cards to prospective customers. The over all design represents Farmboy Fab better than the previous business cards they were using.  Like many of the other business cards 509 Media designs and prints we will be applying a UV Coating to the front surface of the cards to make them shine.  On the rear face of the business cards the UV Coating will be left off to preserve a writing surface for quotes and other misc notes.

If you need business cards for personal use or for your company feel free to CONTACT 509 Media for a quote.  We will be happy to assist you in producing an effective marketing tool.

Boyd Welding Business Cards

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

boyd_welding-business_cardsBoyd Welding is a premier fabricator of custom aluminum fuel tanks and fuel cells located in Florida. Dave at Boyd Welding contacted 509 Media to handle the graphic design of their new business card.  They wanted a full color business card that would increase recall with potential customers.  Recall is basically the ability to remember the business card and company brand.  In some businesses a full color business card printed front and rear would not fit the business model and/or target audience.  In a fabrication business catering to the automotive industry a business card branded this way gets the job done.

The Boyd Welding graphic design process went through a number of mock ups looking for the right fit.  We asked Dave to take a picture of a tig welded aluminum pass on one of his custom fuel tanks.  Using the pen tool in Photoshop we cropped out the weld to place over the metal back ground featured on the graphic design. On the rear of the business card we cut a gap down the center to give the feel of two pieces of metal being welded together. The rear of the business card features the “B” from Boyd Welding’s logo design enlarged and dropping off of the card.  The front of the card features the company logo and the aluminum welded center.

The business cards will be printed in full color front and rear on 16 pt card stock.  The front side of the business cards will receive a UV coat to make the cards shine.  We elected to omit the UV coating from the rear side of the business cards for one simple reason.  The UV coat makes the finish glossy and difficult to write on.  By omitting the UV coating from the read side of the business cards the client will be able to write simple notes on the business cards.

The cards will be printed full color front and back on 16 pt card stock and a UV coat will be added to the front side only for a little extra shine. 4X4 Rock Shop Business Cards

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

4x4rockshop_businescards4x4ROCKSHOP.com has been around the offroad scene for many years. Michael Cohn, the owner, also founded Rockcrawler.com in the late 90′s which grew in traffic and content over the years as the sport of “rock crawling” advanced.  4x4ROCKSHOP.com offers a wide range of products for offroad vehicles.

Michael contacted 509 Media to update their business cards.  4x4ROCKSHOP.com needed something fresh to better represent the outdated business card design they have been using for years.  The new business cards will be printed on 16 pt card stock and have a UV coating on the front to make it shine.  The rear of the business cards will not have a UV coating to provide a place to write quotes and miscellaneous notes.

The business card design was kept simple.  The rear of the card features an area to write the date and other information requested by 4x4ROCKSHOP.com.  The front of the business card has their company logo centered to grab attention.

Magnum Ink Business Cards

Monday, January 25th, 2010

magnum_business_beI really do not want to call Magnum Ink a screen printing company because you will think of cheap trade show giveaway t-shirts.  Magnum Ink has been pumping out screen printed shirts worthy of being called art.  Magnum Ink is located in Las Vegas, Nevada and caters to many different industries.  Be sure to check out some of their past screen printing projects.  I am looking forward to receiving some new cloths in the mail.  Yeah Magnum Ink you can take that as a hint.  Haha.

Magnum Ink contacted me a few months back about designing business cards for their screen printing company.  I was excited about doing the graphic design for Magnum Ink because the only directions were to make it look cool, and do not make it look like a race car.  The card is not what some would consider traditional.  Some may consider the card as breaking the “rules”.  Magnum Ink operates primarily in the off-road motor sports industry where plain “correct” business cards would quickly find their way to the circle file.  If you do not know what the circle file is be sure to take a look at the trash can beside your desk.

The business cards will be printed on 16pt card stock.  They will be printed full color front and rear.  Normally we would add a UV coating to the front side of the business card to make it shine. We will be leaving the UV coating off of the Magnum Ink business cards to give them more of a matte appearance.  By not having a UV coating on the rear of the card they will be able to write in the pre-designed “write box” on the bottom of the card.  The write box is the white box at the bottom of the card.  On darker prints it is very difficult to write notes on the business card so we design areas into the business cards for writing notes.

If you are in need of business cards feel free to CONTACT 509 Media for more details.

Creative Offroad Designs Logo Design

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

cod_tribal Creative Offroad Designs is a small offroad shop located in Park Hills, Missouri.  The owner, Scott Cason, contacted 509 Media a few weeks ago looking for a logo design to represent his offroad shop.  Scott wanted the logo design to universally fit a lot of different applications.  The first picture with the blue triangle crest and tribal design is more of a decoration for the actual logo or icon.  The logo is the center piece of the layout.  The letters COD with the C reversed make up the logo / icon.  Inside the C we have the shape of a nut (polygon) to give the overall effect of a wrench.  Scott wanted a design that was technical looking but still wanted the logo to have character.

509 Media is manufacturing stainless steel key chains with the COD icon.  The key chains will feature the COD logo, and should be a huge hit for the extra special “COD” customer.  I guess Scott needs to start telling people “Cash On Delivery”.  I can see it now, the COD icon with “Cash On Delivery” tattooed across his palm like Jesse James’ world famous “Pay Up Sucka” palm tattoo.
