Yummy Jerky Online Beef Jerky Store and WordPress Blog

yummyjerky-storeI have been buying beef jerky from Yummy Jerky for a couple years and been very pleased with their service and product quality.  The Jerky Hut brand jerky offered by Yummy Jerky is top notch.  If you like beef jerky you will not be disappointed by Yummy Jerky’s product and customer service.  Jerky Hut brand jerky is not the cheap convenient store type jerky many people associate with.

When Aaron at Yummy Jerky decided to step up to a more powerful online store to market his products he called to see what solutions 509 Media had to offer.  Working with the budget given for the website design project we went with an X-Cart install with a custom theme backed up with a WordPress blog themed to match the online store section of the website.  If you would like to see X-Cart and WordPress working together be sure to check out this web design project.

Website Design for Durden Outdoor

billboard-website-designWordPress is a great platform to design custom websites for many different business types. WordPress is just the framework which came be themed to look and function for specific needs. Many people who first hear of WordPress think of it as only a blog. I typically like to think of WordPress as more of a content management system.

The Durden Outdoor WordPress website was custom themed to suit the needs of Durden Outdoor team and their goals. The ease of adding new posts featuring up to date projects keeps their clients and potential clients up to speed with billboard advertising in southeast Alabama. Durden Outdoor is based in Dothan, AL and features billboard locations in 8 counties in the southeast. The new website does not feature each location they have but it will soon feature all digital billboard locations.

The custom theme features custom layouts for certain areas of the website.  This was done to give the user a different feel for the media type as they browse the website.  Be sure to check out the digital billboards section.  This page on the site has a completely different header from the rest of the WordPress theme.

RockCrawler.com WordPress Theme

rockcrawler_wordpress_themeMy personal history has included rock crawling for many years.  So many in fact I can remember when people started calling it rock crawling and when the original owner of the website started it up.  Rock Crawling is basically taking an a 4×4 off-road vehicle and driving it over large rocks, and mountains.  It is crawling because of the slow speeds and technical driving needed to complete a trail.  The past few years have brought a few paradigm shifts to the sport of rock crawling.  The biggest change in recent years is King of the Hammers (KOH).  KOH mixes slow speed rock crawling with high speed desert racing.  Rockcrawler.com has taken notice of this paradigm shift and covers KOH style off-road racing. Method Motorsports Custom Website Design

Method Motorsports is a new business headed up by Kevin Carey who has many years experience in the offroad sport. Kevin didn’t want a typical online store where a vendor presents methodmotorsports_wordpressparts and asks for orders.  He wanted to build an informational offroad website describing different “methods” to building an offroad vehicle tailored for the owner’s need.  I know from owning a large offroad business for many years people tend to buy what they think they need rather than what they really need. Often times the result of this is spending more money than they needed to.  Method Motorsports will offer advise on what should be purchased and in what order it should be purchased without breaking the budget.

WordPress Theme For Hudlow Axle

hudlowaxle_wordpressSteve Hudlow called a couple months ago wanting a custom website built for his company Hudlow Axle.  The website needed to allow them to easily add new content and manage the website from their location.  The 509 Media crew went to work installing WordPress on their server and building a custom WordPress Theme to represent their drive shaft company.  We used the existing image they were using for their company logo and went from there creating a unique WordPress theme.  WordPress is a great platform to build from as it allows the client to easily update and add information to their website.  Of course 509 Media will be here to assist if Hudlow Axle needs help with the site.

Website Design Update for RC Fun Hobbies

509 Media first built RC Fun Hobbies a custom WordPress based website with a custom theme in 2009.  After making changes to the website and adding a new online store it was time for a WordPress Theme custom make over.  The RC Fun Hobbies website now features many banners ads and other links to direct customers into the new online store where they can make a secure online purchase.  WordPress is a very useful tool that allows website owners or business owners an easy solution to add and edit information to their website.  The online store install on RC Fun Hobbies is a custom installation of CRE Loaded.

Online Store Design for JMR Manufacturing

Some of you may know that we have been busy working on a new website for JMR Manufacturing including a new online store.  We choose to go with X-Cart as the platform for JMR’s new online store.  We picked X-Cart for a few reasons.  At the top of the list were SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and the ability to account for dimensional shipping quotes with UPS.

SEO is very important and should be considered when choosing how to build a website.  After all what good is a pretty website if no one can find it?  SEO or Search Engine Optimization is basically taking the proper steps to make sure the major search engines are able to see and crawl your website for information.  The 509 Media staff will be happy to explain the steps you need to take to have Google crawling your website effectively.  X-Cart offers search engine friendly URLs without the need for extra plug-ins.  X-Cart also offers an easy way to add meta keywords, meta descriptions, and page titles.

X-Cart has the ability to account for dimensions of each box being shipped.  By doing so it reduces the chance for back charges from UPS or shipper of your choice.  It takes a little extra time to enter the box dimensions and weight but the savings over a month can be more than worth the time and effort.

WordPress Themed For Busted Knuckle Films

bkfsiteBusted Knuckle Films is an up and coming video company based in Auburn, Alabama.  Busted Knuckle Films (BKF) needed a new website to better market their videos and apparel merchandise so they contacted the crew here at 509 Media.  We suggested using WordPress as the platform to build their website from.  We choose this direction for a couple reasons.  One of the main reasons is the ability to easily add new content to the website.  BKF does not need to contact us to add new content to their website.  Through a log in to the admin panel they have access to add new images, posts, and pages.  Basically if you can type an email you can add new content to a WordPress website.

WordPress is also a great way to improve SEO (Search Engine Optimization) on your website.  With a couple additions to a WordPress 509 Media can have the major search engines crawling your website each time you post new content to your website.  The more content you add to your site the more can be indexed by search engines like Google.  Content in the form of text is what the search engines look for.  So be sure to add keyword rich content to your website.
