Do It Right Lawn Care Truck Wrap

Do It Right Lawn Care based out of Dothan, Alabama recently contacted me about wrapping a “new to them” truck to advertise their business.  After discussing the many options from plain vinyl cut lettering to a full vinyl wrap it was clear a wrap was the direction we would take.  The owner of the company is a long time friend of mine.  I suggested to him a few ways to use the wrap to make money and keep over all cost down.

On the bottom 1/3 of the wrap I suggested he sell advertising space.  The truck is highly visible around town and the space does have value.  I broke the ad area up into three sections.  The large ad space would sell for more than the smaller ones.  I told him to go out and talk to people he knows about buying the ad space on a one year agreement.  So far he has two of the ad spaces sold and the wrap cost nearly covered.  If the advertiser decides not to renew we can simply put a new ad over the old one. This is a creative way to wrap your company vehicle and save on your advertising budget.  If you decide to do this make certain the advertiser does not overpower your message.  After all you are wanting to spread the word about your company to increase your bottom line.  This option may not be right for all companies.

The design of this wrap has purpose.  The Do It Right Lawn  Care section was placed high and bold on the truck side.  When parked in a parking lot with cars next to the truck the wrap will still be clearly seen.  After all the main purpose of this vehicle wrap is to Advertise Do It Right Lawn Care.  The Do It Right banner covers the entire side panel of the truck to make it very easy to read from a long distance.

UPDATE:

The wrap was installed yesterday.  Over all the project turned out great.  We are going to print a wrap for the front part of the box on the truck.  In the beginning the owner did not want to wrap it to keep the project cost a little lower.  After the installation was completed the owner decided to move forward.

We will be printing the advertisements for the side of the truck over the next couple of weeks.  Three ads will be placed on each side of the truck.  I will update the post once the ads are installed.

Mercer Motorsports Comp Rock Crawler (vid)

Friday, November 6th, 2009

20040112-dsc_1392-2Mercer Motorsports from the Atlanta, Georgia area is headed up by Ken Mercer.  You can read all about the team on their team website.  This car has seen action in WE Rock rock crawling events, Rock Racing events, various stadium events, and the now world famous King Of The Hammers.

Ken Mercer is a long time friend of mine.  He asked me to wrap the car for the WE Rock series.  He made the drive to Dothan on a Saturday morning  where we spent a long day and night designing, printing, and installing the wrap.  Each panel on the rock crawler had to be removed in order to make a template.  Once the templates were made the Photoshop work could come to life.  Over all there is not a lot of print on this car.  Taking the car apart, putting it back together, and designing took longer than actually printing.  The vinyl used on this vehicle was Avery 1005 EZ RS.  It was laminated after print to protect the ink. On a comp crawler like this the life of the wrap is short lived so waiting for the print to gas out was not an issue.  The gas out deal is more for other print people to know who may be reading this.

King of the Hammers

King of the Hammers (KOH) is the big show in rock sports these days.  What is King of the Hammers?  KOH is the most extreme rock crawling, rock racing, desert racing event rolled up into one event in the world.  For more information on KOH be sure to visit the official King of the Hammers website.

Jeff Knoll asked if we could design and print these decals for the “Right Coast Qualifier” held May, 15, 2009 at Rausch Creek, PA.  The event was a qualifier for the big show held early next year on the lake bed in southern California.

Blue Torch Fabworks Race Trailer Wrap

Bluetorchfab Enclosed Trailer

Blue Torch FabWorks, Inc. (aka BTF, bluetorch, blutorchfab).  BTF is the world leader in do it yourself rock crawler fabrication products.  BTF is located in Birmingham, AL.  If you are looking for BTF be sure to click the link and give Jason Carner a call.  If you see this trailer going down the highway be sure to wave.  A couple words about BTF history here.  I am very proud to say I started this company in 2001 in Dothan, AL.  I just want to make things clear and not confuse people.  Jason Carner bought in as a partner in late 2007.  In September 2009 I sold Jason the remaining shares of the company.  Even though I am no longer part of the company I am still very proud of the BTF and what it means in the offroad industry.  I am very excited to see what Jason and the rest of the BTF crew come up with.

Now for the trailer.  It is a 44 foot smooth side enclosed trailer.  The design needed to scream Blue Torch as it is going down the road.  The trailer is used at large events like King of the Hammers.  At the KOH event the trailer is parked on the lake bed and needed to show BTF from a long distance away.  You will notice BLUETORCHFAB.COM covers the entire side of the trailer.  A very nice feature of this wrap is the side doors are wrapped on the inside as well.  The benefit is the wrap carries with the doors open at events.

The wrap was printed on a Mutoh printer using 3M CV3 vinyl with a luster finish laminate.  The end result is a clean looking wrap that is very effective in marketing the BTF brand.  More pictures of this trailer can be seen on the Blue Torch Fab website.

Wedding Trailer Wrap

This Moment In Time located in Dothan, Alabama wanted a simple yet elegant looking wrap for their small enclosed trailer.  The trailer would be used as a billboard in front of their store and as a means to carry supplies to weddings.  The pictures for the wrap were supplied by Rare Quality Models and Talent.

If you are in the Dothan area the trailer can be seen at the corner of Honeysuckle and Highway 84 in front of This Moment In Time.

The Rim Shop Window Perf

The Rim Shop Window Perf

The Rim Shop in Dothan, AL built out a new facility on South Oates Street.  The owner wanted to cover his office window with a graphic to keep customers from being able to see in while still being able to see out.  To meet the customer’s need we installed a perforated vinyl or “window perf”.  Perforated vinyl has small holes in the vinyl.  The back side or adhesive side is black to make it easier to see out.

We can do one window or an entire store front.  Window perf is a great way to make your business stand out from the others.

Tri-State Fork Lift Window Perf

Tri-State Forklift

Tri-State Forklift

Tri-State Forklift in Dothan, Alabama contacted me to design, print, and install a simple advertising tool.  In the beginning they asked about door magnets, but I recommend wrapping the rear window with perf.  Perf or window perf is perforated vinyl that allows you to see though the vinyl from the back side.  By wrapping the entire rear window of the truck compared to door magnets you have a larger area to advertise your message.  There are other benefits to wrapping a rear window or tailgate.  While sitting at traffic lights you have a captive audience sitting directly behind you.  Over the life of the wrap you will get more advertising impressions than other traditional means of advertising.  If you would like to discuss an advertising plan for your company feel free to drop us an email.

Vehicle Wraps

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Some things to note about vehicle wraps.  The wrap will note damage the paint on your new car.  If the paint is already falling off of your car, then yes, the wrap will pull the paint off of your car when removed.  Vehicle wrap vary in price depending on design time required and the vehicle.  A wrap will last for years, but I encourage people to consider removing the wrap every 2 – 3 years to change the message.

More info will be coming soon.  These short little posts are just to help with setting our website up.
