A customer dropped in to 509 Media on a recommendation to us from Photorama here in Dothan, AL. The customer wanted a large format digital print installed on their horse trailer. In some ways this is a extra large tailgate wrap. The print was made from a high resolution picture provided by the customer. The vinyl used for this job was 3M Controltac CV3 with a high gloss laminate to protect the ink.
Bill Durden of Durden Outdoor stopped by the shop for a visit a few weeks ago. After talking for a few minutes the discussion moved on to wrapping his Jeep TJ to give it a little more character. He wanted to keep the cost down yet make it look cool. We chose to design and print a partial wrap for his Jeep. This would lessen the amount of vinyl used on the project as well as reduce some install time.
The end result changed the way the Jeep looked drastically, and if the owner decides to remove the wrap it can be easily removed. The Jeep wrap was printed on 3M Controltac CV3 and laminated with a high gloss over laminate to protect the inks and make it shine.
Some of you may notice the wheels were powder coated black. The aluminum wheels pictured in the before pictures were removed, media blasted, powder coated black, and reinstalled. The black wheels better compliment the Jeep wrap design. Not to mention the aluminum finish on the wheels was not looking too great.
If you would like to purchase a wrap like this one please contact us for more details. 509 Media can also design and print custom wraps to suit your needs.

George’s Auto Glass wanted to freshen up their image around town with a vehicle wrap. Their mobile service vans are out around Dothan, AL and surrounding areas on a daily basis and provide a perfect opportunity to advertise their services. The service van wrap was designed to wrap from the front door back to help keep cost down. The vehicle wrap was design in Adobe Photoshop and then printed on our Mutoh large format printer.
The vinyl used for this project was high performance 3M Controltac CV3 with a high gloss 3M laminate to protect the ink. The high gloss laminate helps give the wrap a sense of depth. The vinyl used on this project might not be the cheapest but it will have a longer service life on the van.

RC Fun Hobbies in Dothan, AL called to get a set of door magnets. We took the business card design we completed a few months back and turned it into a full color door magnet. Door magnets can be a very effective and low cost way to advertise your business and/or service. The RC Fun door magnets are printed on high performance 3M CV3 vinyl in full color and laminated with a high performance 3M laminate. The print is then applied to the magnet. Once applied the 509 Media crew rounded the door magnet corners to help them resist curling. Not to mention rounded corners look a lot better.
The RC Fun Hobbies door magnets are 19 inches wide and 14.5 inches tall. We choose this size to fit most GM trucks and tailgates. 509 Media can design and print door magnets to the size you need. Just specify height width and we will be happy to quote them for you.
Check out the extra large contour cut sticker we installed on the shop door to help advertise our business location. The sticker was printed, laminated, and contour cut to shape. Now those passing by 509 Media on West Main Street in Dothan, Alabama have something more to see than a shop door on the end of our building. We can design and print large stickers for your shop doors. Why not make use of the space on the outside of your building and advertise. We did use a high performance 3M CV3 vinyl for this application. We choose this vinyl to make sure we would be able to remove the sticker with ease. After all we do not need to cause waves with the landlord. Contact 509 Media today for pricing on your next sign or stickers.
A fellow member on RC Crawler asked if 509 Media could print small decals to fit on scale RC Rock Crawlers. Our replay was yes we can. The client provided the necessary artwork to print. We created the contour cut for the sticker with the Jeep on it. A contour cut is a cut in the vinyl matching the outside shape of the sticker. By using a contour cut the sticker has a lot cleaner finish. The larger stickers in the set measure 2 inches by 2 inches and the smaller ones measure one inch by one inch.
We also printed windshield banners featuring the club name in 2 different sizes for 1/10 and 1/18 scale rc cars. The windshield banners measure 5 inches wide and .25 inch tall. The stickers were printed on 3m CV3 and laminated to protect the ink. The laminate not only protects the ink it also adds a high gloss finish to the stickers. I should note depending on the application and end use we can use a matte finish over laminate to give the sticker a flat finish appearance. If you need stickers printed be sure to contact us. We can run small quantities like on this order of large production runs.
I will update the post with pictures of the stickers installed if the client wants to email back a couple images of them install on their RC crawlers.
Mechanical Support Services in the Birmingham, AL area contacted me about wrapping their heating and cooling service trucks. After discussing their needs and concerns we decided a large graphic design on the doors would better suit their needs. Not to mention a smaller graphic design saves a lot of money when compared to a complete vehicle wrap. The graphic will be printed on 3M CV3 Controltac vinyl.
The circle logo toward the rear of the graphic design is a design Mechanical Support Services uses on their marketing materials. We did add a little ice effect to the blue part of the logo. Another feature of this design is the ability to make small decals for them to place on heating and cooling equipment they service.

509 Media printed stickers for an Alabama offroad club called Hardline Crawlers. A member of the club provided a black and white copy of the logo and asked me to add some color to it. The club wanted the stickers in two different sizes. A smaller sticker roughly 6 inches round and a large 24 inch round for their roof panels. The stickers were printed on 3M Controltac vinyl and laminated to protect the ink. The stickers were then contour cut on the plotter to give them the shape they needed. The end result is a high quality peel and stick sticker. If you are looking for stickers for your offroad club be sure to contact 509 Media for pricing details.
Over the past few years I have printed a few tailgate wraps to advertise my own business. During which a few friends and customers have asked me to design tailgate wraps for their trucks. A tailgate wrap is referring to wrapping ONLY the tailgate of a pickup or SUV. This is a very cost effective way to advertise your company and keep the cost way down.
Typically a tailgate wrap can be purchased and installed for under $250 dollars. The price has a lot to do with how much time is spent on the design. In other words if you want a complicated design then the price will reflect the added time needed to complete the project.
I would like to point out you do not have to use this to only advertise a business. If you want a custom scene on the tailgate just for the purpose of adding some style and color to your truck then we can do mix it up for you.
If you would like to get started on a tailgate wrap be sure to CONTACT 509 Media for details.
I have done tailgate wraps for Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota trucks. If I do not have a template for your truck I can make one very easily.
A few years ago I wrapped my desktop. It always made for a good conversation sitting at the desk. When people would ask, “Why the one hundred dollar bill?” I would simply reply, “At least now there is no mistake what we are sitting here talking about, money”.
509 Media can design and print a table top or desk top wrap for you. We use 3M Controltac vinyl and laminate it to protect the ink. We can do anything from a crazy graphic to incorporating your company logo into the design. Other good places to consider this type of print would be a sales counter, conference room table, trade show table tops, and more.
