Derrick Olwin contacted me wanted a custom business card design different than the typical business cards handed to him daily. After emailing over the Olwin Machine and Fabrication logo design I went to work creating something to make his customers take a second look. On the logo side of the card you will see an actual size ruler printed on the card. The ruler will allow people to measure small items with the business card. My personal background involves metal fabrication and machining, and from experience I can tell you want common objects measure. For instance when you are out in the field knowing a typical business card measures 2 x 3.5 inches can help you use it as a reference to measure things. I also know that US paper currency measures 2.5 x 6 inches. The point is common objects in your pocket can be utilized for secondary roles if needed. Most people do not realize simple objects can be used to measure things.
The Olwin Machine shop business card design features Spot UV highlighting the company logo on both sides of the business card. Spot UV defines certain areas of the business card design to shine and the rest of the print matte finish. Spot UV creates a feeling of depth in the business card design.
The information side of the business card layout features a simple name plate style design. The name plate look is similar to those found on machines, electric motors, and other industrial equipment. The reason why I choose the name plate idea for this business card design was to add something extra rather than simply detailing the name, address, and telephone numbers.
If you would like to talk about business cards designs be sure to contact me anytime. I am more than certain I can design something to fit any style of business.
