Woodland Car Care Business Cards with Spot UV

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

woodland_car_wash_business_cardsA few months back 509 Media began working on a logo design, stickers, and other marketing materials for Woodland Car Care.  Woodland is a car wash and car detailing company.  The owner of the car wash wanted custom business cards to reflect a modern image.  The business cards feature spot uv which makes only certain sections of the business card shine.  Spot uv works to give the card depth.  When placing a business card like the Woodland Car Care in front of people they can not help to pick it up and check it out.

The car wash business cards were printed in full color on 16 pt card stock.  Woodland Car Care ordered 10,000 business cards to help kick start the new car wash business.  10,000 cards typically start at 160 dollars and go up depending on options like spot uv or rounded corners.  Call 509 Media today if you would like to get started on custom business cards for your business.

Check out the pictures of the cards printed below.  In the pictures you can see how spot uv adds to the look and feel of the business cards.  You will be able to see more in the angle shots.  Spot UV can be difficult to capture in a picture.

Studio One Hair Salon Business Cards

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

studio_one_businesscardsStudio One Hair Salon wanted 509 Media to design and print new business cards for their salon located near Auburn, Alabama.  The design was left open to the graphic designers at 509 Media.  Action was taken to design and print a high quality business card for the hair salon.  The business cards are printed on high quality heavy 16 pt card stock and UV coated on the front side only to make them shine.  The UV coating was left off the rear of the card to allow for the hair stylist to write appointment times on the read side of the business card.  A hair stylist earns their money by building clientele for repeat business. Often times if a stylist leaves a salon the clients will follow their stylist because of the stylist client relationship.  With that said a hair stylist needs to consider their work as a little business within the larger business being the salon.  It is important for the stylist to establish a brand or name for themselves within their given market area.  The market area can be as large or small as people are willing to come see you for your hair styling abilities.

A well put together business card design can speak volumes about your hair salon business.  If you are standing in line at the grocery store and someone asks what you do for a living you should have a response to fire back at them in less than 10 seconds.  DO NOT have a long drawn out story of how you worked over there and now work over here.  You will bore people.  Get to the point and make an impact.  Have your business cards on you at all times to capitalize on every opportunity that comes your way.  You will never know when an opportunity will come to gain new business.  After you tell the potential client what you do make sure you are handing putting a business card  in their hand and ask them to drop by for a visit sometime.

I know a couple hair stylists who operate their own websites as a portfolio of their work.  On the business card you can place the website address to direct people back to your work.  Part of the goal is to make sure people recall what services you offer the next time they have a need.  Like 509 Media your website can be built to easily add information to the the website without the need to know a lot about computers.  509 Media will be happy to talk about setting up a portfolio website if you are interested.  509 Media can also show you different way you can promote your brand and the advertise your hair salon.

Designed a new 509 Media Business Card

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

509_dan_bizcardIt has been over a month since moving 509 Media into the new Dothan, Alabama location.  Until today I could not decide what to do for my own business card design. I forced myself to sit down for a while today and bang out a new business card design for 509 Media.  The design is a little plain but the “Spot UV” effect will make the business cards look very cool.

Spot UV is a process that makes only certain parts of the business card shine.  Normally a UV coating covers the entire surface of the card.  On this design I wanted to make the card standout when compared to other business cards around town.  In the black and white pictures below you will see the areas that will receive the Spot UV treatment.  On the front side of the business card I do not have “GRAPHIC DESIGN” printed on the card.  The Spot UV effect will make the letters show.  I will post up additional pictures when we finish them.

Here is a picture of the Spot UV area and the print for the front of the business card.  Keep in mind the only areas of the card that will shine are the areas in the black and white image below the actual print.

Below are pictures of the rear of the 509 Media business card.  You will see the printed image.  The print features an area to write quotes and/or notes.  The black and white image is the area that will receive Spot UV.

Tristate Truck Accessories Business Cards

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

tristate_truck_businesscards509 Media is no stranger to the truck accessory and offroad vehicle industry.  When Scott called from Tristate Truck Accessories looking for a new business card design 509 Media answered the call.  The Dothan, Alabama based company will be using the business card from their local truck accessory retail shop.  Be sure to stop by Tristate Truck Accessories if you are in the Dothan area.  They have a large selection of truck accessories and gift certificates for those looking to purchase a gift.  Tristate is the Dothan leader in diamond plate truck toolbox sales.  Because of the large amount of toolboxes sold by Tristate we choose to design the business card with a tread plate look and feel.  The business card design is simple and to the point using their existing company logo design.  The tread plate back ground was darkened to leave the focus on their company name.

The business cards will be printed on 16 pt card stock and uv coated on the front side to give the business cards a little shine.  The uv will be left off the rear of the card to allow them to write quotes on the card.  Call 509 Media today if you are in need of marketing materials for your company.

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

farmboy_sampleFarmboy Fabrications from Florida, The Sunshine State, contacted 509 Media to handle the graphic design of their new business cards.  The business cards will be used company wide with other employee names and email information.  The new business card design used the existing logo design from Farmboy Fabrications with a couple 509 Media tweaks.  The business cards will be printed in full color both front and rear on 16 pt card stock.  Farmboy Fab is one offroad company that will be proud to hand out their new business cards to prospective customers. The over all design represents Farmboy Fab better than the previous business cards they were using.  Like many of the other business cards 509 Media designs and prints we will be applying a UV Coating to the front surface of the cards to make them shine.  On the rear face of the business cards the UV Coating will be left off to preserve a writing surface for quotes and other misc notes.

Boyd Welding Business Cards

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

boyd_welding-business_cardsBoyd Welding is a premier fabricator of custom aluminum fuel tanks and fuel cells located in Florida. Dave at Boyd Welding contacted 509 Media to handle the graphic design of their new business card.  They wanted a full color business card that would increase recall with potential customers.  Recall is basically the ability to remember the business card and company brand.  In some businesses a full color business card printed front and rear would not fit the business model and/or target audience.  In a fabrication business catering to the automotive industry a business card branded this way gets the job done.

The Boyd Welding graphic design process went through a number of mock ups looking for the right fit.  We asked Dave to take a picture of a tig welded aluminum pass on one of his custom fuel tanks.  Using the pen tool in Photoshop we cropped out the weld to place over the metal back ground featured on the graphic design. On the rear of the business card we cut a gap down the center to give the feel of two pieces of metal being welded together. The rear of the business card features the “B” from Boyd Welding’s logo design enlarged and dropping off of the card.  The front of the card features the company logo and the aluminum welded center.

The business cards will be printed in full color front and rear on 16 pt card stock.  The front side of the business cards will receive a UV coat to make the cards shine.  We elected to omit the UV coating from the rear side of the business cards for one simple reason.  The UV coat makes the finish glossy and difficult to write on.  By omitting the UV coating from the read side of the business cards the client will be able to write simple notes on the business cards.

If you would like to discuss company branding opportunities with 509 Media be sure to contact us.  We offer a wide range of advertising services.

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

cod_biz_cardsCreative Offroad Designs recently contacted 509 Media to design a company logo to represent their company.  Be sure to check out the logo design by clicking the link. After completing the logo design we dropped the logo onto a business card to show the client what the logo would look like in use.

The cards will be printed full color front and back on 16 pt card stock and a UV coat will be added to the front side only for a little extra shine. The rear will not receive a UV coating so the client will be able to write on the card.  The over all design of the card is very simple and to the point.  The logo was placed very boldly on the front side of the business card to make an impact with clients.
