Country Crossing Aerial Pictures Dothan Alabama

Country Crossing located outside of Dothan, Alabama has been surrounded by controversy over the past few months as Alabama state government officials and Country Crossing Developer Ronnie Gilley battle it out over gambling laws in Alabama.  While I am not taking an official position I could not help to think of wasted money as I flew over the Country Crossing grounds earlier today.  We circled the Country Crossing facility a couple times from 2000 feet to check the place out.  I did not visit Country Crossing before the forewarned raid by state officials.  From the air it appears a lot of money was spent developing the property.  You can also see from the air additional space where the developers plan to expand the facility.  Country Crossing can create many jobs at the facility and with many supporting companies in the local community.  Alabama citizens have a big decision ahead of them deciding gambling laws.  I would hate to guess the amount of tax payer dollars being spent to fight this bill on both sides.  With the difficult economy we face here in Alabama I hope both parties figure something out soon and stop wasting tax payer dollars.  I would rather spend tax payer dollars on bettering our education system rather than parking Alabama State Troopers outside Country Crossing.

Here are the aerial pictures I took this afternoon.  You can see the main building, rv parking area in the rear, and the large amphitheater that Country Crossing calls the “Party Pavilion”.

Contour Cut Full Color Stickers for Country Crossings

Friday, January 8th, 2010

dsc_8133I got a call from a Dothan area sign shop to print 10 inch round Country Crossing Stickers a few days before the troubles began or them with this week’s shut down “due to safety” reason.  I guess Country Crossing was attempting to have their valet parking signs in place before the law enforcement raid.  If you have not heard the story about Country Crossing be sure to check out Rick Stokes News for more details.  Country Crossings is back open for business.  Be sure to visit their website.

Anyway back to the important issue at hand.  Printed, laminated, and contour cut stickers.  The stickers were printed on our 64″ Mutoh Toucan LT with wave technology.  The vinyl used on the full color stickers for this project was 3M CV3.  The vinyl is expensive to make a simple sticker but the signs Country Crossing needed to use them will be left outside.

If you have no clue what a contour cut is I will explain.  It is a vector path placed around the outside shape of the graphic thus cutting the image out. A vector path in simple terms is a line drawn the computer to let them plotter know where to cut the stickers out..  The more curves in a design the more difficult it can become to create the contour cut.  There is not a lot special about the Country Crossing stickers.  I though I would share for those interested in reading.

Please note 509 Media is NOT the grapgic designer for the Country Crossing logo design.
