Rear Window Perf for Political Advertising

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

dsc_0347Window perf or sometimes called window wrap can be used to advertise on vehicle windows.  The 509 Media store front windows are wrapped with printed window perf to advertise our business.  On vehicles the same material is used to advertise.  The rear window of this Hummer H2 was wrapped with printed window perf.  Window perf has small holes in the vinyl to allow people in the vehicle to see through.  It should be noted this application was done as a temporary political advertisement and was installed without a protective over laminate.  By not using laminate it allows you to see out of the vehicle easier, but when it gets wet it is just about impossible to see out.  So if you are considering this approach to advertise you should know the difference in using window perf with and without laminate.

Political Campaign Marketing is a great use for window perf.  If you are running for office and would like to discuss pricing, marketing ideas, and develop a cost effective plan be sure to contact 509 Media in Dothan, AL.  509 Media can handle your graphic design needs, marketing, and put it all into action to produce results.

The ad pictured here is a PAID Political Advertisement by Andy Hughes of Ashford, Alabama.  Andy Hughes is running for re-election for Houston Country Sheriff.

509 Media Storefront Window Perf

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

dsc_9135It has been a couple weeks since making a blog post here on 509 Media.  We have been very busy keeping up with our work load and moving into the new location.  We wrapped the 509 Media storefront today with perforated vinyl.

Perforated vinyl or more commonly known as window perf can be a very effective tool advertising your business.  The traffic count in front of our business is roughly 20,000 cars per day.  When compared to other local advertising methods window perf can deliver customers to your cash register for a small investment.  Window perf is vinyl with little holes in it.  The holes allow people inside the building to see out as if there are no graphics on the window.  The window perf on the 509 Media store front is a 50/50 ratio.  This means the area you can see through is equal to the area printed on.  50/50 window perf allows you to see out of the building much easier than 70/30.  On 70/30 the print covers 70% of the window and the holes cover 30%. One benefit of 70/30 is the ability to have more detailed prints.

The design on window perf can include what ever you want to promote your business.  You can have pictures of your product, or a graphic to grab attention.  Here at 509 Media we wanted something that would stand out as people drive by our door everyday.

Perforated Window Vinyl

Window Perf Pealed back to show adhesive side.

Over the weekend I decided to put together a post covering Perforated Window Vinyl also called Window Perf.  The main purpose of perforated window vinyl is to display a graphic on a window and allow visibility from inside the building or vehicle.  Window perf is a printable vinyl that has holes to allow light through.  The holes determine print quality.  On a 50/50 window perf you have 50 percent graphic coverage and 50 percent holes.  With 70/30 you can get a little better print quality because the graphic is covering more of the surface.  I would like to point out 50/50 is easier to see through.  In automotive use you might want to see a little better.

Perforated Window Vinyl can be used in many different applications.  It can cover store front windows and vehicle windows with an advertisement or other graphic. Perforated Window Vinyl is a good choice for vehicle wraps when you want to carry design elements larger.  Other uses for Perforated Window Vinyl can be wrapping tail lights on a camo wrapped truck.  The idea here is to print the camo pattern on perf and then wrap the tail light.  The red light will show through the holes when the lights are on.

Window Perf Print Side

Just about any graphic or photograph can be printed on Perforated Window Vinyl.  Keep in mind when printing large format the image quality and size does matter.  When printing on perf you can get away with a lower quality images because all of the little holes will take away from the print quality a little.

If you have a custom Perforated Window Vinyl project that you would like to discuss please feel free to contact me.

You can see in the pictures the adhesive side of the vinyl is dark and the print side is white.  The back side is dark so the light coming through will be brighter than the vinyl allowing you to see through the perf.

The Rim Shop Window Perf

The Rim Shop in Dothan, AL built out a new facility on South Oates Street.  The owner wanted to cover his office window with a graphic to keep customers from being able to see in while still being able to see out.  To meet the customer’s need we installed a perforated vinyl or “window perf”.  Perforated vinyl has small holes in the vinyl.  The back side or adhesive side is black to make it easier to see out.

We can do one window or an entire store front.  Window perf is a great way to make your business stand out from the others.

Tri-State Fork Lift Window Perf

Tri-State Forklift

Tri-State Forklift

Tri-State Forklift in Dothan, Alabama contacted me to design, print, and install a simple advertising tool.  In the beginning they asked about door magnets, but I recommend wrapping the rear window with perf.  Perf or window perf is perforated vinyl that allows you to see though the vinyl from the back side.  By wrapping the entire rear window of the truck compared to door magnets you have a larger area to advertise your message.  There are other benefits to wrapping a rear window or tailgate.  While sitting at traffic lights you have a captive audience sitting directly behind you.  Over the life of the wrap you will get more advertising impressions than other traditional means of advertising.  If you would like to discuss an advertising plan for your company feel free to drop us an email.
